Village Didsari - The Story on how it all began for Tvam

You all might have wondered how is it that Tvam chose Didsari village out of any other villages near Uttarkashi to resolve it from all its sufferings and pain.

Well, it was not Tvam that chose Didsari but its time that chose Didsari for Tvam. Curious now, lets uncover the story on how it all began for Tvam...

It had been an year what we could have called a normal year for all of us and similarly was it for Harshit - the founding member of Tvam but then something changed out of nowhere. Inspired by a call from within Tvam's acquaintances Harshit took his first step to serve the people of Uttarkashi on 25th Sep.2013. He had been to this place earlier on a different assignment in Aug 2012 and had some vivid pictures and memories of the previous catastrophe that had hit this place. An unseen misery had enveloped this place back then in 2012 and this time again the conditions were similar. Uttarkashi is a place which had been and currently is prone to disasters, though the people through their sheer will power endure all the pains and sufferings with great courage as this had been a land of their ancestors and its this land that they choose no matter what nature wants from them, its their home and no one can make them betray it at any cost.

Harshit's visit in 2013 had put him in a dilemma to find a particular place in that region to initiate his work, he had no clue what to do and where to start from? His dilemma was sorted out to a great extent by one of the localite's Mr Ganesh Nautiyal who is also a junior officer in ITBP. He told Harshit that if at all he would like to help the people in Uttarkashi region then he should start with the worst affected village of the entire region in Uttarkashi - Didsari - the village that had been almost ruined by the forces of nature, but yet stands just on the basis of human will power, a will to survive.. And so Harshit decided to visit the place and find out by himself on what went wrong and how to fix it.

Harshit simply cannot forget his first visit to the village Didsari. Everything about that place was reflecting emotions of anger, plight, pain, helplessness; though the river seemed to be moving with prowess and glory. Village Didsari had lost acres of land who's remnants can be seen all over the place. Didsari lost 25 houses but at the same time thousands living in their houses lost their hope as well. The apathy of the men towards its fellow men was so evident that Harshit for sometime could not bear the sight of the place.

Uttarkashi Story - A Village, suffering in pain, all alone!!

It would had been just another year like anything else but no this was not. Time wanted to test something, what exactly, nobody knew. Ever imagined how it would feel, to be hurt badly, wounded, bleeding all over, crying for help, desperately and no one around to take care of you. Its scary right.. Yes we know.

While some of us were comfortably sitting at home, probably enjoying the monsoon over a cup of tea, in the year 2013, well this was not the case for all of us as few unlucky ones among us were hit badly by mother nature. Why? What was our fault, nobody knew.

Monsoon for year 2013 had been a nightmare for the people of village Didsari. All of a sudden a village with life came to a stand still... What happened, why all of a sudden the happiness vanished is the question that strikes us all.

A cry for help, a cry of pain, a cry that should have shattered and awaken the human inside us was left unheard for long.. No one to listen to them, no one to take care of them, no one to wipe their tears and say - "Yes, we are with you, rest assured you are not alone..". Even these simple words would have helped them but no, even this was not there..
